Director – Zoel Aeschbacher
Born in 1993 in Paris, France, he is of Swiss and Vietnamese origin. Marked by the short films of the Kourtrajmé collective, he began experimenting with a DV camera. In 2017 he completed a Bachelor in Film at the École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL). His graduation film, BONOBO (2017), premiered in international competition at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival and received the audience award. BONOBO won the Student Academy Award for best student film in 2019. FAIRPLAY (2022) premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and received the Pardi di Domani Junior Jury Awards.
