WHITE CHRISTMAS 1948 – Antonios Vallindras (Greece, 2022) 16′

During the Greek Civil War, a commander of the Communist side, wants to give his comrades an emotional humane moment before returning to the barbaric reality of the war.

Director Antonios Vallindras

Antonios Vallindras was born in Athens, but was raised in multiple cities both in Greece and abroad. He has studied Economics in Athens and worked as an Account Executive for Ogilvy Greece. In 2014, he decided to change career path and focused on filmmaking. He studied at Bournemouth University, Directing Digital Film and Television (MA).

He has directed four short films. His film, THE LIFE OF A SOBER MAN (2016) was nominated for the RTS London Student Television Award. After moving back to Athens, he has been working on numerous projects as a director and producer. He has also worked as an assistant director and co-producer for AMERIKA SQUARE (dir. Yannis Sakaridis). He participated as a fellow in the START – Create Cultural Change program of the Goethe Institut Thessaloniki.

He is the co-founder of Ladies’ Fingers Directing Duo. His latest film “White Christmas 1948” (2022) was funded by the Greek Film Center and ERT (Microfilm). He has been awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNG) Artist Fellowship by Artworks in 2022.
