YOUR BAD ANIMALS – Ido Shapira and Amit Cohen (Israel, 2022) 11′

Rachel, a rebellious young mouse who lives with her depressed mother in a burrow, starts dating the most dangerous animals in the city above the ground.

Ido Shapira and Amit Cohen are directors due, graduates of Bezalel Academy of Art and Design.
Their thesis film, Hounds, was screened at numerous festivals including Stuttgart, Krok and Animator. It won eight international awards and was reviewed by New York Times and Hollywood Reporter. It was also screened in Tel Aviv Museum, and appeared on a book cover. It is a part of the 2019 Animation Show of Shows.
Your Bad Animals has won three of Israel’s major animation funds, won the Annecy workshop in Jerusalem, and was part of the spotlight on Jerusalem at MIFA.


Director Statement

Your Bad Animals is our dream project. It’s a comic and tragic film about a young woman that discovers her sexuality, a contemporary look at the intense dating scene of the present moment, and a tale about complex family ties.
